Introducing the TX-12 Pro Transmission: Enhanced Performance for Kenworth Models

As of May 12, 2025, Kenworth is excited to announce the availability of the TX-12 Pro transmission for its 2.1m medium-duty T380 and T480 models. It's important to note that the MX-11 engine is not offered in the 2.1m medium-duty configuration. Therefore, any 2.1m medium-duty chassis equipped with the TX-12 Pro will require the PX-9 engine.

Previous Rollout for Heavy-Duty Models

The TX-12 Pro transmission was initially introduced for 2.1m heavy-duty models, becoming available for specification on March 4, 2024.

Advanced Features and Durability

The TX-12 Pro builds upon the successful TX-12 platform, integrating several popular features found in the TX-18 Pro. These include a "rock free" mode for challenging terrains, dual performance calibrations for optimized driving, and a dedicated off-road calibration.

Maintenance is streamlined with extended oil change intervals of 250,000 miles, and the clutch is designed to be maintenance-free. Standard on the TX-12 Pro are dual Power Take-Off (PTO) openings: an 8-bolt bottom mount and a 4-bolt rear mount, collectively rated for a 95 horsepower capacity. For enhanced monitoring, the TX-12 Pro can also be equipped with an oil temperature gauge on the 15-inch digital display, as well as a clutch temperature gauge.

Engine Compatibility

The TX-12 Pro transmission is compatible with both PACCAR PX-9 and MX-11 engines.
