Premium Landing Gear
GD60 features an all bolted construction for ease of repair and maintenance.
Great Dane Model 60 Landing Gear uses a constant mesh gear box which keeps gears engaged for consistently smooth shifting. The landing gear construction features a floating nut design which protects the elevating screw from damage caused by dock walk.
Supported by angle bracing at the front and rear, the GD Model 60 has a lift capacity of 55,000 lbs. The mount spreads the load over five crossmembers, and steel gussets ensure extra support, stability, and strength. Completing the design, Great Dane's replaceable shock-mounted sand shoes reduce stresses in the mount by 50 percent. Componentry is bolted in place for ease of repair.

The Champion SE's exterior lighting package comes standard with Grote's MicroNova® DOT LED lamps, designed to improve visibility and service life of the lights. The system also features dual intensity clearance lights, with an available option for five clearance lights with outer turn signal.
The industry's best wiring harness, the Long-Life Light System is a maintenance-free, fully modular system backed by a 10-year warranty. This sealed harness prevents moisture intrusion, is extremely durable, and combines the flexibility of a custom wiring system with the reliability and simplicity of a sealed harness.
Floor Strength
Hardwood floors supported by heavy-duty wax-coated crossmembers
A 1.38" laminated hardwood floor is installed with two 5/16" screws per board in an alternating pattern for increased strength. The floor is supported by heavy-duty wax-coated, I-beam crossmembers, the strongest standard crossmembers in the industry.
This strength combined with the corrosion-resistant floor coating results in longer life and less downtime. A smooth steel 12-gauge, 3" threshold plate is standard. Deeper threshold plates are available as an option.

Great Dane's exclusive spray-in-place thermoplastic coating sprayed on suspensions and support gear offers superior long-term protection from rock and stone impingement and chemical resistance to current de-icing chemicals and road hazards.
Front End Protection
Long Lasting, strong and durable protection
The lower front of the trailer is protected from corrosion by a stainless steel front bottom rail. The upper coupler is constructed with galvanneal components and additional rust-preventative coatings for a long-lasting, strong and durable connection.

The patented SSL panel Lining is four times more corrosion resistant that galvanized steel and has a puncture strength nearly six times greater that hardwood plywood and over four times greater than MDPE plastic.
New EnduroGuard Rear Frame
Great Dane's exclusive rear frame design combines galvannealed carbon steel with stainless steel for long lasting performance that withstands/outlasts the elements
Great Dane's standard dry van rear frame, EnduroGuard, combines the strength of galvannealed carbon steel and stainless steel to deliver a frame capable of withstanding the elements and strong enough to last a lifetime. EnduroGuard posts and header are standard painted gray, with white as an available option, while the rear sill is stainless steel.
The rear frame is made of 10 gauge, 5.00" x 2.00" high-strength, tubular steel corner posts. The rear header to top rail connection is reinforced at the corners by massive .25" steel gussets, which minimize racking and ensure that the frame remains square throughout the life of the trailer.

Automatic Tire Inflation Systems
Automatic tire inflation systems help extend tire life and increase fuel efficiency by using compressed air from the trailer to maintain tire pressure settings during operation. Multiple tire inflation systems are available as options.
Air Disc Brakes
Air disc brakes offer reduced stopping distances when compared to drum brakes and help reduce stop brake fade. A variety of options are available.
Heavy-Duty Air-Ride Suspension Package
A Heavy-Duty Air-Ride Suspension Package is available for dry freight and specialty vans and refrigerated trailers. The VANTRAAX HKANT – 46K features a tandem slider tailor-made for heavy-duty applications and incorporates the patented QUIK-DRAW pin activation system, high-strength main rails, and “K” braces for durability and frame strength.
Lightweight Suspension System
Optimized for dry-freight sliding tandems, the Hendrickson HKANT-40K Air-Ride Suspension provides weight savings and reliable performance for a smoother ride and cargo protection. This system also features long-life Tri-Functional pivot bushings for a smooth ride and Quik-Align for fast and easy axle alignments.
Optional Roll-Up Door
An optional roll-up door is available for operations that require loading in a limited space. A sturdy, reinforced roll-up rear door frame provides added security.

Posts and spacing options include galvanized steel hat and shallow logistic posts for more interior width and blocking or decking capability. Closer upright spacing is available in 12", 16", and 24" centers for heavy-duty operations.
MDPE Lining
For maximum width and optimal performance, a MDPE plastic interior lining is resilient and provides outstanding puncture resistance.
Floor Protection Options
PuR is an optional floor protection feature that acts as a moisture barrier, which increases durability and reduces floor maintenance costs. Waxin is an optional floor treatment that protects hardwood floors against the harshest outside conditions by penetrating the surface of hardwood with solid paraffin wax, creating a virtually waterproof barrier of protection. Available over every inch of the trailer floor or on just the rear 8 feet where the greatest exposure to elements occurs.
Double Decking Option
The Double Dex option creates a second deck to accomodate additional cargo by using captive beams with a recessed track.
